Max Kilger, Chief Behavioral Scientist
Max Kilger received his doctorate in Social Psychology from Stanford University and directs Experian Simmons' efforts in developing new methodologies from both quantitative as well as qualitative fields. Dr. Kilger specializes in applying theoretical and statistical expertise in creating specialized behavioral segmentation systems. One of the leading investigators in market research in the US in the field of database integration, Dr. Kilger has overseen the development of most of Experian Simmons' new psychographic scales and measures. His research interests include devising effective measurements for sensitive topical areas, the association between psychographic data and consumption patterns, the relationship of people to digital technology and methods of linking datasets containing disparate individuals. He is responsible for the creation of the suite of Simmons BehaviorGraphics products that integrate the Nielsen respondent-level television viewing database with Simmons National Consumer Survey (NCS), the development of Malcolm Gladwell's Tipping Point Segments within the NCS and co-creator of Simmons' Hispanic acculturation scales and segmentation systems. In addition to his work in market research, Dr. Kilger was a member of the National Academy of Engineering's Combating Terrorism Committee, which was charged with recommending counterterrorism methodologies to the Congress and relevant federal agencies. Dr. Kilger is also a senior member of the Honeynet Project and serves as their chief social scientist, contributing research on the social psychological motivations, social structure, and future potential directions that the hacker community might take. He is a frequent national and international speaker to law enforcement and intelligence agencies as well as information security forums. |
