Recent Study by Experian Simmons Shows That the Number of Americans With No Religious Affiliation Is Growing

NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwire - April 10, 2009) - Based on a four-year trend analysis Experian® Simmons(SM) performed, most likely fewer Americans will celebrate religious holidays this year compared with last year.

The trend analysis reviewed a few religious attitudinal statements surveyed in the Experian Simmons National Consumer Study/National Hispanic Consumer Study and found a small but steady decline in the number of religious Americans. In addition, between 2005 and 2008, there was a 1 percent increase in Americans who have no religious affiliation.
